Caribbean School is a multi-cultural school located in the Spanish-speaking city of Ponce. The school fosters an appreciation of Puerto Rican heritage and serves as a bridge between cultures. Caribbean School offers a college preparatory program comparable to schools in the United States with instruction in the English language and a special emphasis on the teaching and learning of Spanish. Committed to academic excellence, the Caribbean School community develops independent learners and creative thinkers who become successful, caring, global citizens.
On October 5th, only two weeks after “Hurricane Maria” hit Puerto Rico, Caribbean School was able to resume classes on a half-day basis. During that time our employees faced urgent demands at home but because of their commitment they put aside their own needs to be present at school, pitching in in order to get our campus ready to welcome students. Once we opened the school, learning took place in a climate of care and support that has always defined our unique school community. Our staff effort is a testament not only to their remarkable professionalism and loyalty to our school, but to their determination to help our students “turn the page” and return to the comforting daily routines of school. Since October 19th, we are running normal class schedules.
