Objectives:
By the end of the school year, June 2010, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 11th grade Caribbean School students will demonstrate improvement in writing by: a) The fourth grade earning a 35% national percentile ranking on the Language Total section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. b) The sixth grade earning a 65% national percentile ranking on the Language Total section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. c) The eighth grade earning a 65% national percentile ranking on the Language Total section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. d) The eleventh grade earning a 70% national percentile ranking on the Advanced Skills section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. e) The fourth grade earning a 40% suburban percentile ranking on the ERB WrAP writing exam. f) The sixth grade earning a 48% suburban percentile ranking on the ERB WrAP writing exam. g) The eighth grade earning a 60% suburban percentile ranking on the ERB WrAP writing exam. h) The eleventh grade earning a 50% national percentile ranking on the Writing section of the PSAT exam.
2. Character Development By the end of the school year, June 2011, all Caribbean School students will demonstrate improvement in assuming respect, responsibility, integrity and leadership by achieving: i) A mean score of 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Character Development Survey for Academic Dishonesty related questions on the teacher surveys. j) A mean score of 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Character Development Survey for Bullying and Harassment questions on the teacher surveys. k) A mean score of 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Character Development Survey for Respect and Responsibility related questions on the teacher surveys. l) A mean score of 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Character Development Survey for Academic Dishonesty related questions on the student surveys. m) A mean score of 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Character Development Survey for Bullying and Harassment related questions on the student surveys. n) A mean score of 4.0 out of 5.0 on the Character Development Survey for Respect and Responsibility related questions on the student surveys. o) A mean score of 3.5 for 6-12 grade students on the Student Leadership Self Assessment Rubric.
3. Vocabulary By the end of the school year, June 2011, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 11th grade Caribbean School students will demonstrate improvement in vocabulary by: p) The fourth grade earning a 25% national percentile ranking on the Vocabulary section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. q) The sixth grade earning a 50% national percentile ranking on the Vocabulary section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. r) The eighth grade earning a 50% national percentile ranking on the Vocabulary section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. s) The eleventh grade earning a 70% national percentile ranking on the Vocabulary section of the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills. t) The fourth grade earning a mean raw score of 4.0 on the Word Choice section of the ERB WrAP writing exam. u) The sixth grade earning a mean raw score of 4.5 on the Word Choice section of the ERB WrAP writing exam. v) The eighth grade earning a mean raw score of 5.0 on the Word Choice section of the ERB WrAP writing exam.
